Magnum Publishing House, established in 1992, specializes in non-fiction. Publishes books on contemporary history: stories, reportages, biographies, memoirs and diaries. A major part of Magnum’s catalogue are books on history of the Second World War, on politics, espionage, history of Russia. The books are written by well known authors of world renown, like Stephen E. Ambrose, Clay Blair, Richard Pipes, Simon S. Montefiore, Bob Woodward. Magnum also publishes books for women: biographies, memoirs, novels with political or historical background.

RUSSIA UNDER THE BOLSHEVIK REGIME by Richard Pipes

Last part of the so called „Russian Trilogy”, after RUSSIA UNDER THE OLD REGIME and THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION, on creation of the Soviet empire by the Bolsheviks and their attempts to promote the communist revolution in other countries. The author goes beyond the pure political maneuvers in the fight for power, describes chaos and drama of the civil war, the massive human tragedy, and also cultural and religious politics of the Bolsheviks.

BAND OF BROTHERS by Stephen E. Ambrose

A story of soldiers of the famous American combat paratroopers from the moment of its formation the united States in 1942 until the capture of Hitler’s Eagle Nest in Obersalzberg in 1945. A ten-part tv series based on the book has been filmed and broadcast also in Poland.

STALIN: THE COURT OF THE RED TSAR by Simon Sebag Montefiore

A masterful group biography of Stalin’s the closest circles – and a portrait of Stalin himself. The author have used newly found documents, unpublished memoirs and interviews with witnesses of events whom he met during his travels to Russia and the countries of the former Soviet Empire.

KAREN BLIXEN by Jean-Noël Liaut

A biography of the legendary author of OUT OF AFRICA. A colorful picture of the most important chapter of her life in Kenya from 1914 to 1931 where she went to fulfill her romantic desires of freedom, independence, wealth and beauty.

State of Denial by Bob Woodward

In the last part of his trilogy, the author of the WAR OF BUSH and PLAN OF ATTACK continues his story on behind-the-door politics of the President George W. Bush. He describes internal debates and conflicts between the White House, Pentagon, CIA and the State Department officers from 2003 until now. He describes how Bush and his team attempted to change the course of the war in Iraq. The book brings a detailed picture of the first presidency of 21^st century.
